Postoperative Care: Suture Removal for Dental Nurses, Hygienists and Therapists
This one-day course is for dental care professionals who assist in surgical procedures and want to extend their scope of practice under the direction of a dentist.
It will enable you to be confident and competent in removing sutures after the wound has been checked by a dentist. You'll also learn how to support your patients with postoperative care.
The course includes interactive seminars and hands-on practical activities.
The course is run by the UCL Eastman Dental Institute in London.

This course is for qualified or training dental care professionals (nurses, hygienists or dental therapists) who assist with oral surgery procedures like extractions, periodontal surgery, or implant surgery.

Structure and teaching
The day will run from approximately 9:30am to 5pm.
In the morning, you'll take part in interactive seminars on the theoretical aspects of wound healing and suturing techniques.
These are supplemented with videos of live clinical cases to highlight key stages in treatment.
The afternoon will involve hands-on sessions.
CPD points and certificate
You'll gain 6.5 hours of verifiable CPD, plus a certificate of attendance.
