Booking and rates

Making a booking

As your bookers, we do all the hard work for you so you don’t have to worry about the hassle of endlessly searching for that perfect place to stay. So get in touch and let us help you find a home from home.

To start a booking you should first fill out our enquiry form.
Whether you are just making an enquiry, want to start a booking, or are enquiring as a third party, this is the way to get the ball rolling.

Once you have submitted the form we’ll have a better idea of what you are looking for, and can start looking through our books for suitable accommodation. We will then send you links to the microsites for a handpicked selection of available Hosts, each giving further information about their accommodation to help you to make an informed choice. These microsites are private webpages curated by the Host who provides up-to-date information about their accommodation including a selection of images, full details of what’s included, as well as information about the location, transport links and amenities in the surrounding area.

Then once you have chosen your preferred accommodation we will confirm your booking by taking a deposit and put you in touch with your Host. As a bespoke service it's very simple.

Payments

Once you have confirmed your preferred accommodation option, we will ask you to pay deposit to secure short bookings of 4 nights or less or the equivalent of 1 month’s rent for bookings longer than 60 days. For bookings less than 60 days we will request the full rent upfront to be paid to secure the booking. First we will email you your chosen accommodation details with the cost breakdown, and then in a separate mail we’ll provide a link to our secure payment request page which operates through Sage Pay. This is a secure online card payment system. All you have to do is click on the link, and follow the simple instructions. It is quick, easy and safe, and of course you can make the payment at any time to suit you.

Your rent payment will then be made to your Host on arrival by Dr In the House and in most instances this is paid by bank transfer, however, if you are unable to pay this way then other arrangements can be made.

There are some anomalies to this payment process, and particularly if you are renting a flat. In a few instances the balance of payment needs to be paid to the owner before the arrival date, and there are also some flats whose Host requires a refundable deposit on arrival as insurance against any damages. In these cases we will make you aware of the unusual payment circumstances before you confirm the booking so that you are aware in advance.
