Introduction from your host

Welcome to Marylebone Village.

My husband bought our mews house back in 1982 when he was establishing himself as a recently qualified Chartered Accountant and now, in his retirement, he feels priviledged to continue to enjoy living in this quiet mews located in the heart of London,

Situated next to Harley St. and surrounded by many private hospitals we are also close to other national institutions and yet we are only a few minutes' walk from the beautiful gardens and lakes of Regents Park.

Just around the corner, with many restaurants and fashionable shops is Marylebone High St. but the whole of London feels as if it is on our door-step as no less than five tube stations and two bus stops are within a short walking distance.

The accommodation, located on the first floor, is let for Homestay.  Note that access to my beautifully appointed flat is via a steep flight of stairs from a shared front door entrance to my husband's ground floor apartment.

We are conveniently located within walking distance of many medical institutions and hospitals such as University College London Hospital which is just a 15 min walk away, and Great Ormond Street Hospital which is a 25 min trip on the underground.

Also nearby are the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the BBC. The Warburg Institute is also within an easy 25 minute walking distance. Our home offers a perfect base if you are working or studying anywhere in central London and you will be assured a warm welcome should you stay a couple of nights or even several weeks.

Excellent location and friendly host, with all the facilities that I needed. Highly recommended. I shall certainly use Doctor in the House again and recommend to others.

This was very central and the accommodation is very comfortable and spacious. Sally was amazing and went out of her way to make my stay comfortable. Her help and support were beyond expectation. A very pleasant stay

I enjoyed my stay with my host very much, the accommodation was as described. I can recommend the accommodation where I stayed and Doctor in the House absolutely.

I spend an amazing 3 months with Sally! Sally and her place have my best recommendation!

-Mr Maciej Behnke

My stay at Sally's accommodation was absolutely wonderful. From the moment I arrived, she showed a great deal of hospitality, and was kind enough to meet with me soon after my arrival to orient me to the neighbourhood. The accommodation itself was lovely. A spacious kitchen allowed for a very welcoming experience, with a large double bedroom that was also quite comfortable. I had next to no issues during my 3 month stay at Devonshire Mews West, and when any issues did arise Sally was quick to respond and remedy the situation. I was taking a course during my stay, and the location of Sally's home was very central, so I was able to walk to and from the institution most days. The location is also amenable to fine dining, affordable groceries, cafes, shopping, and just about any other activity you can imagine. Not to mention that it is only a stone's throw away from the beautiful Regent's Park. Overall, this is by far the nicest accommodation where I have stayed in London, and should I have the opportunity to visit the city again in the future, I hope to be able to stay at Devonshire Mews. This home definitely holds a place in my heart.

I had a great stay at Sally's place. Sally is a wonderful host. The apartment is tastefully decorated and has all the requirements for a long stay. Though listed as a shared bathroom/kitchen, I had the entire apartment to my use essentially as Sally is away for travel or spends most of the time in her country house. You cant fathom getting such a lovely place in heart of London in posh area of Marylebone at this price. Will definitely recommend it and will be going back to this place for part of my stay again.

People make home and Sally makes a home in London for everyone. She is one of the kindest persons I know. I have stayed in her house multiple times and it is a wonderful place. It is quiet, neat and central. It is literally minutes walk to a lot Universities and Hospitals in central London.
